The Fishes

We have 2 water babies that love to hit the pool. Logan is getting very confident in his abilities and always tries to keep up with big brother which can be quite frightening at times. He can jump and dive into the pool, and make it to the surface, but can't quite keep going yet. Splashing himself and others provides hours of non stop entertainment.

Owen is becoming quite an accomplished swimmer now. He has graduated from the belly flop water entry to the cannon ball, side, and back dives. Owen has been working on his front crawl stroke, back float, and deep diving. Swimming is a wonderful family time that we enjoy all year round.

A Real Canadian Winter

It has been so long since I have written in this blog that winter has come and gone and almost come again (at least in Canada, not the Philippines). Last Christmas we decided it was about time to introduce the boys to snow....for the first time!! Mindy and I were worried that they would freeze their buns off since for most of their lives the coldest it gets is 25C. We had no need to worry as the boys jumped right in (literally) and didn't want to go back inside. So we tried to do it all in the few weeks we were back in Canada. Ice skating, snow men, snow angels, snowball fights, forts, licking icicles, hot chocolate, tobogganing, and Christmas with family!

Owen hard at work. He outlasted everyone, even on the coldest days.

We made it to downtown Barrie to see the passing of the torch for the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver.

What's a winter without the annual run and jump in the snow wearing only your swimsuit!

Owen's Christmas Concert

The pre-kindergarden class put on an instant classic Christmas production. Owen was brilliant as a wise man, and the critics adored him. Notice the orange and purple outfit, just happens to be Owen's favourites. Some things never change.

Logan's 1st Birthday

What a happy boy on his first birthday! You may think that this is a beer in the child's hand and what terrible parents we must be. No, no, this is a specially formulated baby drink containing the precise balance of vitamins and minerals essential to ensuring optimal growth and intellectual development in children. Bad parents huh, just look at that smile!

Halloween 2009

Owen and Olivia, "soccer stars" heading out for some trick-or-treating in Brentville. There was a large crowd of kids that descended on the quiet neighborhood this year consuming huge amounts of sugar and chocolate in a short period of time. The high energy event was a success and ended without incident.

Logan the "ferocious lion" was on the prowl terrifying the poor unsuspecting children of Brentville. Luckily Daddy saved the day by eating the Lion's share of candy to prevent rotting of teeth and childhood obesity!

The Fall

Maybe a month ago Owen was enjoying himself by bouncing happily on our couch. The happily bouncing boy quickly became the screaming, gasping for breath so I can yell louder boy, after bouncing his head off the cement window sill behind the couch. Brave little Owen made the trip to the ER where he was quickly stitched up and ready to go again. The next day the incident was apparently forgotten as I found him bouncing happily on the couch!
